A. We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, written by men as they were moved on by the Holy Spirit, and that it is the sole authority for the Christian’s faith and conduct. (II Peter 1: 19-2 1; II Timothy 3:15-17.) We believe that the Received Text (Textus Receptus) carries the full authority of the original autographs which includes the Kings James Version and translations in other languages that are accurately translated from the Received Text (TR).
B. We believe in the Triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that they are equal in every divine perfection, and they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption (Deuteronomy 6:4,5; I Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:6; I Timothy 1:17; Matthew 28:19;John 15:16,17, 26).
C. We believe the Genesis account of creation, and that it is to be accepted literally, not allegorically or figuratively; that man was created directly in God’s own image and after His own likeness; that man’s creation was not a matter of evolution, or evolutionary changes of species, or development through interminable periods of time from lower to higher forms. (Genesis 1: 1; Exodus 20:11; Acts 4:24; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 11:3; John 1:3; Revelation 10:6; Romans 1:20; Acts 17:23-26; Jeremiah 10:12; Nehemiah 9:6; Genesis 1: 11; Genesis 1:24)
D. We believe that man was created in the image and after the likeness of God, but by voluntary transgression fell from his sinless and happy estate; the consequence of which, all mankind are now sinners, not by constraint, but by choice; and therefore under the just condemnation of God, without defense or excuse. (Genesis 3:1-6, 24; Romans 5:12,19; Romans 3:10-19; Ephesians 2:1, 3; Galatians 3:22)
E. Salvation, We believe that the salvation of sinners (we are all sinners, Romans 3:10; 23-25) is wholly of grace through the mediatorial work of Jesus Christ, that His blood on the mercy seat purchased our redemption, and by His substitutionary death, resurrection and blood atonement on the mercy seat (Hebrews 9) known collectively as the finished work of Christ made a full and vicarious atonement for our sins. That we can do nothing to merit our redemption, and just trusting in what Christ did 2000 years ago was sufficient to purchase that redemption for us. We only need to rest in the finished work of Christ alone to obtain eternal life. (Ephesians 2:8; Romans 3:24; John 3:16; Romans 3:25; I Peter 3:18-19; Hebrews 7:24).
F. Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers: We believe that all the redeemed are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. (John 6:37-40; John 10:27- 30; Romans 8:1, 37-39; I Corinthians 1:4-8; I Peter 1:5; I John 2:19).
G. We believe that the church of Christ is a congregation of believers associated by a covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel, observing the ordinances of Christ, and governed by His laws under the direction of the pastor (undershepherd). We believe the true mission of the church is to follow the Great Commission: (Matthew 28:19-20).
H. We hold that the local church has the absolute right of self-government, free from any interference of any hierarchy or individuals or organizations, and that the one and only Head is the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:41-42; I Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 5:23-24).
I. We believe in the "blessed hope", which is the personal, imminent, pre-tribulation and pre-millennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones; and in His subsequent return to earth with His saints, to establish His Millennial Kingdom. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Zechariah l4:4-11-; Revelation 19:11-16; Revelation 20:1-6; Revelation 3: 10).
L. We take a stand against:
- 1. NEO-ORTHODOXY: This method of scriptural interpretation is false and deceiving. Instead of presenting the truth, this method presents a half-truth. It is inconsistent with the Word of God. We utterly reject this method.
- 2. NEO-EVANGELICALISM: The neo-evangelical is one of attitude rather than doctrine. It compromises with the modernists and liberals in cooperative efforts in evangelism and other so-called Christian endeavors. We cannot link hands with these who discredit Christ and undermine Scriptural inspiration. This leads to the acceptance of the ecumenical church.
- 3. ECUMENICAL MOVEMENT: This is a movement to unite all faiths in a world-wide church. This movement does not raise the standards of morality, but it is a contributing factor to the destruction of the moral fiber of many men today. This united church is only laying the groundwork for the tribulation Babylon, which will climax in Revelation 17.
